SKAPA, PLLC. is looking to fill an innovative role within the studio, in support of The Shop. This position will support the vision of the firm and the right candidate will be pivotal. The role will require the ability to work with both design professionals and the shop.
SKAPA, PLLC. is a fresh, new vision for a landscape architecture studio. The vision has been created on the foundation of over 25 years of experience in traditional landscape architecture firms, close to a decade of firm management, and a unique list of project experience. Desired Qualifications:
This position is a combined position where 3D modeling and 3D printing experience with the successful conversion of 3D Models into printable files is the desired result.
Summary of duties:
Slicer /Blender Responsibilities: In this position, you will be responsible for architectural modeling ensuring the successful conversion of 3D models into printable files using slicer software, as well as overseeing the operation and maintenance of our 3D printing equipment.
Prepare 3D models for printing by generating and optimizing files using slicing software.
Fine-tune slicing parameters to achieve optimal print quality and efficiency.
3D Printing - Operate, Maintain and Monitor design studio 3D printers and associated equipment and supplies.
Collaborate with the design team to ensure accurate representation of concepts and ideas. You will work closely with our design team to accurately portray their concepts and ideas in an efficient and effective manner.
Utilize Rhino 3D software to create 3D models of exterior and surface environments and living spaces with high detail and precision
Create drawings that are easily interpreted by the slicing software and produce successful 3D Printing
Work with engineers to ensure models and drawings align with technical specifications and requirements
Manage project timelines and deliverables
Inspect and review models from outside consultants for accuracy and consistency, prior to 3D Printing
Requirements & Work Experience:
Legally able to work in the US, Mandarin speaking candidates are encouraged to apply.
Show portfolio of own work, 3-5 years of experience in Rhino 3D modeling preferred, but portfolio of successful renderings and prints for consideration of experience.
Rhino required.
Lumion preferred or similar, ability to learn quickly for consideration of experience.
AutoCAD preferred, not required.
Experience working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Strong communication skills and collaboration abilities
Precision and attention to detail
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
Remote work on a case by case basis, min. 3 days week in office for the first 3 months.
Some travel within the US may be required.
Ability to lift 25lbs.

$20-$25 an hour.
